Privacy Policy
Effective date: 10/28/2026
Winsights (“we,” “us”) is a data analytics consultancy that helps small businesses make decisions using their own financial data. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it, both on this website and when a client authorizes us to connect to their QuickBooks Online account.
Information we collect
From our website. If you contact us, we receive the information you provide, such as your name, email address, and message. Our website host may use cookies for basic site function and analytics.
From QuickBooks, with your permission. When a client authorizes Winsights to connect to their QuickBooks Online company, we access accounting data such as financial reports, transactions, accounts, customers, and vendors. We only read this data. We do not create, change, or delete anything in your QuickBooks account.
Connection credentials. Intuit issues us secure access codes for the connection. We never see or store your QuickBooks password.
How we use your information
We use client data only to provide the analysis services you’ve engaged us for. We do not sell, rent, or trade your data, use it for marketing, or use it to train AI models.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to store and analyze data on our behalf:
Cloud hosting: Amazon Web Services, for secure storage and processing.
AI service providers: to help analyze data and draft findings. We use only providers whose business terms do not allow them to train their models on our data. A current list is available on request.
We may also disclose information if required by law. We don’t share client data with anyone else.
How we protect it
Client data is encrypted in storage and in transit. Access is limited to the systems and people who need it, and our accounts are protected with two-step login. Connection credentials are kept in a dedicated, encrypted secrets store.
How long we keep it
We keep client data for the length of our engagement and delete it within 30 days after the engagement ends, or sooner on request. Some service providers may briefly retain data under their own policies, for example for security monitoring.
Your choices
You can disconnect Winsights from your QuickBooks account at any time from within QuickBooks or by contacting us. You can also ask us to share or delete the data we hold about your business.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we’ll post the new version here and change the effective date. We’ll notify clients directly of any significant changes.
